About Party on Butler

Pittsburgh's balloon and event studio — colorful, vibrant, and ridiculously fun since 2019.

Party on Butler is a full-service balloon and event company based in Pittsburgh. From our 8,500-square-foot studio — a converted firehouse in Blawnox — we design balloon installations, florals, marquee letters, and complete events for celebrations all over the Pittsburgh area, and we host them in our own private event space.

Our Story

It started, like a lot of good things do, as a side hustle. Our founder, Melinda, began making balloon décor for friends' and family's parties and quickly realized she loved it. Inspired by the bold, oversized balloon installs Kim Kardashian was putting up at her biggest celebrations, she set out to bring that same wow factor home to Pittsburgh.

Our very first client was Amazon — and when a company that size was impressed, we knew we had something. We named the business Party on Butler after Butler Street in Lawrenceville, where we opened our first store. For three years we served the neighborhood with balloon installations and party supplies out of a scrappy little warehouse, then grew into our current home: a converted Blawnox firehouse with 8,500 square feet of room to dream up — and pre-build — your celebration.

What Makes Us Different

  • We're all about color, vibrance, and fun. That's our lane and we own it — if you want a celebration that truly pops, you're in the right place.
  • We arrive fully prepared, everything pre-inflated. Your balloons are blown up and ready before we get there, so setup never eats into your venue rental time. Anyone who's rented a space by the hour knows how much that matters.
  • You see it before you book it. We send a custom mock-up so you know exactly what you're getting.
  • Corporate events and luxury kids' parties are our bread and butter — two very different worlds we happen to be really, really good at.
  • We're full-service, with our own venue. Balloons, florals, marquee letters, rentals, planning, and a private event space, all under one roof.

Meet the Founder

Before Party on Butler, Melinda sharpened her eye for large-scale art installations at Christie's auction house in New York City. She brought that experience back home to Pittsburgh to build something of her own — and seven years (and a set of twins) later, she still leads the studio and can't wait to see where it grows next.
